Given a customer with an exsiting system that uses Pocket IE through a web
interface, where would I even begin to figure out how to print to a printer
connected to the handheld unit's serial port? The existing system was not
written by us, nor is modifying it currently an option.

If there's no menu item to print, it's not going to print. You *are*
talking about Pocket IE on a Windows Mobile device? In theory, at least, IE
under Windows CE can print, if the OS contains the necessary printing
support. I suppose that you might see what PrinterCE from Field Software
will give you. You might be able to render the page yourself using the
browser ActiveX control and somehow get that sent to the printer.
